Mays inducted into High Banks Hall of Fame
BELLEVILLE, Kan. (July 31, 2006) -- Former Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame President Bob Mays of Lincoln, NE., was inducted into High Banks Hall of Fame as part of the "Class of 2006". The Induction Ceremony and Banquet was held on Thursday, July 27 at the Belleville (Kansas) High School.

Mays, a “jack of all trades” has done almost everything there is to do in dirt track racing. A driving career that consisted of racing micro-midgets and 360 Sprint Cars, a mechanic, photographer and writer for Flat Out Magazine and Pit Stop Magazine along with many other publications are some of Bob’s accomplishments.

For years Mays has published Fastrack Pictorial and in 2002 he released the popular High Plains Thunder, a book devoted to Supermodified racing in the Midlands. It was an immediate success, selling out in six months. In 2004, Mays collaborated with Ray Valasek on Valley County Thunder, The History of Racing at Ord, Nebraska. In 2005, Mays released Big Car Thunder, Sprint Cars on America’s Fair Circuits, Volume 1
and Volume 2 is scheduled for release in December 2006.

Bob Mays was elected to the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 1998, served as president from 2004-2005 and still remains active as a board member.

Banquet Information
The Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame will enshrine six new inductees at the organization’s 21st annual Induction Ceremonies to be held later this year on SATURDAY OCTOBER 27th, 2018 at Courtside Banquet Hall in Lincoln, a NEW LOCATION!! Located at 333 SPEEDWAY CIRCLE #2, LINCOLN, NEBRASKA. Previously, the organization’s annual Induction Ceremonies had been held on a Friday evening at Lincoln Firefighter’s Hall, however timing and space issues prompted the change to a Saturday night at a larger venue.
